Samsung Galaxy S II plus recently received the Android 4.2.2 update, that brought a lot of changes to the UI and improved stability and performance. Many of the Galaxy S II plus owners might be looking for a way to play with their device beyond the boundaries on the latest Android 4.2.2, this may include flashing mods, custom recoveries, playing with the clock speed of your device and much more.
While this is only possible after having the root access, following the need, we will be having a look on how we can gain the root access on Samsung Galaxy S II Plus GT-I9105 and GT-I9105P running on latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

How to Root your Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 – GT-I9105P.
Now wondering what to do with your rooted phone?
Here’s the answer for you!
Rooting your phone gives you complete access over all the data which is apparently locked by the manufacturers. This includes removal of the factory restrictions and making changes to the internal system and the operating system. Gaining the root access gives you the privileges to install various applications to enhance the performance of your device, allows you to remove the built-in applications/programs, helps you to upgrade the battery life of your device & install the apps which require the root access for the proper functionality and modify your device in so many other ways e.g using mods and custom roms.
How to keep Root after OTA Updates
The OTA updates rolled out by the manufacturers wipe the root access on your phone. In case you don’t know how you can restore the root access after OTA update, you’ll have to root your phone once again, but there is no need to do it as you can restore it using the OTA Rootkeeper App which is available in the Google Play Store. The app creates backup of your root and simply restores it after any OTA update.

Jerry_recovery.tar.md5 don't work by me.
Why?
@sms2_root:disqus flash the file properly. You might have missed a step.
rename the file in Jerry_recovery.tar , without .md5
hi I don't see any sd card option when booted... First one doesn't work neither I don't see O:com on the program and it says 0 failed 0 done or something like that...
@disqus_6SJ98eeXiG:disqus please put your phone in download mode properly. You are having connection issues, follow the instructions carefully please.
hi .. my mobil is (samsung galaxy s2 plus i91050 ..when i put it in download mode it doesn't connect ..but when i start it it connect without any problem ,,, plzzz help :)
@diakojahfer:disqus enable USB debugging on your phone and then connect it in download mode. See if Odin gives a blue light in ID:COM box or not, if ti turns blue that means your phone is connected in download mode.
after i pass the clockworkMod., when i open my phone in recovery mode, it doesn't show the required option instead it opens in usual mode..
@disqus_weIEZUaTGV:disqus flash latest firmware and then flash CWM.
My I9105P is in a sort of the same problem. It gets into stock recovery mode, CWM never showed up. The only thing I can point my finger at is that I've got the official OTA Update of the 4.2.2 firmware, not by cable with Kies nor a custom wipe out reflash with Odin.
I'll wait to see if any of you can find the problem because I'm not into flashing new firmwares right now.
I can confirm it's not working, I9105P with stock 4.2.2 I9105PXXUBMI1. The CockworkMod downloads to the phone fine but it doesn't get installed. If you try and use the Volume up + menu key +power button then you enter the stock Android system recovery. That won't ever be able to apply the mod.
I need to find another method that works. Please update in the comments if you manage to find a work around to still use this method with 4.2.2 and I9105P.
@disqus_l5qJuscp0d:disqus this method works flawlessly. You can find the comments below who reported that the recovery and root worked. Do the whole process once again and follow the steps carefully. First flash a stock firmware and then flash this recovery.
I have the exact same I9105P with stock 4.2.2 XXUBMI1 version like you and it worked flawless for me, this is a very good and simple guide, you must be missing something, double check every step on the way.
I am glad to report that I've managed to get hold of it and rooted my Galaxy with some quirks.
I suspect it had something to do with Auto reboot option in Odin which I suggest to turn off (I did). After the flash and the progress bar completes on the device you still get a message from Odin which says RESET. Hold off!! Do not be fooled: the precedure hasn't completed yet, you have to let the device do apparently nothing for another 2:40 minutes before it actually finalizes itself. You can tell from the message in the Odin window, it should light the box green with the message PASS. Only after you see this message you can turn the device off while still USB attached (doing otherwise caused a reboot in my case) and boot into recovery mode, CMW style. Apparently if you don't follow this exact sequence you get the phone into a reboot and the CMW install is reverted.
i have flashed the jerry recovery 5-6 times and all times pass comes in odin but still clockworkmod doesnot come. every time stock recovery comes in recovery mode
@disqus_TgIIPVlbKu:disqus flash latest stock firmware and then try flashing this recovery again. Good Luck.
how to do that?
@disqus_TgIIPVlbKu:disqus guides are linked above, you just need to reinstall your firmware.
so i have to flash 4.2.2 version? because already my phone is running on 4.2.2
@disqus_TgIIPVlbKu:disqus you need to Re-Install the firmware and then try the whole procedure once again.
This procedure will not increase the binary counter?
@hakamelassouad:disqus this will increase.
@disqus_dlN6vegTXC:disqus that means your phone doesn't have the CWM recovery. In this state you need to flash stock firmware from scratch and then do this procedure from start as well.
