Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of Samsung’s most popular flagship devices. The device is being used by millions of users all over the world. Galaxy S8 comes with the top-notch hardware of the year 2017. But all this doesn’t mean the device will never have an issue.
Recently, a number of Galaxy S8 owners contacted us regarding one same problem. The problem was the 4G LTE connectivity. Some Galaxy S8 owners are unable to connect to 4G LTE. After trying dig out the solution, I found that the 4G LTE problem is not common. Furthermore, the problem had nothing to do with the phone’s hardware or software. In most of the cases, it was the problem with the SIM configuration or the Mobile Data configuration.
Upon the conclusion of my research, I was able to assemble a list of potential solutions to fix the Galaxy S8 that can’t connect to 4G LTE. Those of you who are using a Galaxy S8 and currently cannot connect to the 4G, they can take a look at the nifty solutions given below.

Take a look at the following solutions to fix Galaxy S8 that can’t connect to 4G LTE. It is recommended to try these solutions one by one.
First of all, you have to ensure that your Flight Mode is turned off. When the Flight Mode is turned on, it will not let your SIM operate. It disables the network completely. Pull down the notifications panel to check the Flight Mode or go to Settings > Connections and turn off the Flight Mode if it is on.
This is one of the most common problems that can keep your phone from connecting to the 4G. It happens when you are using 2 different SIM cards in your phone, one with Mobile Data and one without Mobile Data. If the SIM without Mobile Data is selected under Preferred SIM Card > Mobile Data, your 4G will not work. You have to access the settings and choose the SIM card that has the Mobile Data. Here is how to do this.
If the preferred network type doesn’t have 4G, it will not let it work either. Follow these steps to select 4G in the network type.
Before trying to use 4G, you have to check your Data as well. If there is no Data available in your 4G bucket, it will stay on GPRS connectivity. In this case, you have to buy the 4G Data before you start using it.
Use a SIM eject tool to pull the SIM out of your phone. Check if the SIM card is completely fine. Fix the SIM card in the SIM tray and put it back. Restart your phone and check the connectivity now.
An application can sometimes cause a conflict with the network connectivity on your phone. You have to check the applications manually if that’s the case. Here is how you can do this.
If all of the solutions given above fail to work for you, there is a potential chance that your Network Carrier is the culprit. You can try visiting the nearest service center of your carrier and ask them to fix the problem. If there is nothing wrong with the hardware of your Galaxy S8, they will fix the phone for 4G connectivity immediately.
That’s all. I also faced a similar problem recently. In my case, the problem was the preferred network type. My Galaxy S8 was set to 2G/3G. I had to change it to 2G/3G/4G. I hope that the solutions worked for you. If you have anything to add to this guide, drop it in the comments section below.
