How To Disable Bixby Button On Galaxy S8, S8 Plus & Note 8

Samsung Bixby is Samsung’s rival of the Siri and the Google Assistant. It took way long for Samsung to roll out the Bixby Voice features. Although Samsung’s Bixby is much intelligent and a great voice assistant, but there’s a number of people who are not making any use of the Bixby. After saying goodbye to the home-button and introducing infinity display on its smartphones, Samsung added a dedicated Bixby button right below the Volume rocker on the Galaxy S8 and other new flagship smartphones. Samsung’s placement of the Bixby button on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus and the Galaxy Note 8 is not quite comfortable. Accidentally pressing the button launches Samsung Bixby. Even if you are using any other application or right in the middle of the game, pressing the Bixby button is going to interrupt everything. This is how it works, at least for me. Back in the day, it was easy to remap the Bixby button to launch your desired application. Samsung cracked down all applications allowing to remap the Bixby button. Now the Bixby button will only launch the Bixby app.

It looks like Samsung realised that the Bixby button’s functionality is not liked by everyone. In the latest update to the Bixby application, Samsung has added an option to disable the Bixby button. The option appears at the top of the Bixby home. You can disable it and get rid of the popping-up of Bixby again and again on your smartphone. Here is how you can disable Bixby Button on Galaxy S8, S8 Plus & Note 8 easily.

How To Disable Bixby Button On Galaxy S8, S8 Plus & Note 8

  1. Press the Bixby Button to launch Bixby on your phone.
  2. In the Bixby Home, you will find a radio button next to the Bixby key option.
  3. Turn the Radio Button Off to bring the button options.
  4. You can now choose to not to open anything or open Bixby upon pressing the Bixby button.
  5. That’s how simple it was. That’s it.
