How to change CSC on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

CSC stands for the country-specific code. This code is responsible for features like WiFi calling, VoLTE services etc. Different smartphones in different countries equip a unique CSC according to the region. Android enthusiasts, who are around the corner to tweak their phones all the time, they keep messing up with the CSC to customize the device. Changing CSC on a smartphone is easy. This process is easier when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

It isn’t been so long since Samsung released the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. A small utility has already been released which makes it possible to flash a new CSC and change your existing CSC. The science behind changing the CSC is very easy to understand. For example, you are living in the US and the Galaxy S8 in the UK has one or two additional features as compared to the phone from the US region, you can flash the CSC of UK region and get those features. Furthermore, you can debrand a carrier branded smartphone with the help of a new CSC. Changing CSC also helps to get updates to other regions.

Flashing CSC is slightly risky as well. It can damage the EFS partition of your phone as well. But if you follow the entire process according to the instructions given below, it should go quite smooth.

At the moment, the CSC utility for the Galaxy S8 has been tested on the G950F/G955F and G950FD/G955FD variants. You can check it on other variants at your own risk. Have a look at the instructions below to change CSC on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus now.

Note: You can apply this CSC to any stock ROM as long as you have the TWRP recovery installed. You can view the list of available countries in the CSC installer once you start it in the TWRP recovery.
