The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL from Google are a hit and they might end up being an even better smartphone lineup had it not been for a list of issues plaguing these premium devices.
To update you, there were some notable bugs, with one such problem is the distortion of audio in video playback. Google had acknowledged the problem in October and said the issue will be fixed with a software update, and wouldn’t you know it, here it is.
The beta update is finally here. The videos will hopefully sound a lot better with the Android Oreo 8.1 update so do check out the differences in the clips given at the top and the bottom. There isn’t any sign of a bug in the Developer Preview 2 test release of the software so this might end up being a less polished released of the official software update.

The first video is from a Pixel 2 XL phone on Android 8.0. The other one is the same phone on Android 8.1 DP2. The difference is quite clear. An official ETA for the update has not been revealed by Google yet but it is expected that it will roll out soon.
If you know the risks involved with installing the Developer Preview 2 for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, then go ahead and install the latest update. If not, then we highly recommend that you wait for the OTA update so that such a problem no longer becomes a headache for you in the future.
