Google Nexus 6P owners can update their phone to the Android 9.0 Pie, thanks to the StatiXOS. The StatiXOS is an Android 9 Pie based custom ROM for Nexus 6P. Since the Google Nexus 6P will not be getting the official Android Pie update, the StatiXOS is the best opportunity to update the phone to latest Android right now. Thankfully, almost everything is working in this ROM. The RIL, WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera, Audio & Video Playback are working completely fine. The ROM is good enough to keep as your daily driver. To download Google Nexus 6P Android 9.0 Pie via StatiXOS, simply follow the instructions given in this guide. Before flashing this ROM, let’s go through what the Google Nexus 6P had to offer.

Nexus 6P was the last phone in the Nexus lineup. Google joined hands with Huawei to manufacture the Nexus 6P. The Google Nexus 6P came out in September 2015. The phone was released alongside the Google Nexus 5X which was manufactured by LG. Nexus 6P sported an AMOLED display of 5.7-inch. The resolution on this display was 1440 x 2560 pixels having 518 PPI. Nexus 6P was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU which was accompanied by Adreno 430 GPU. Nexus 6P had the internal storage of 32/64/128 GB. There was a RAM of 3 GB inside this phone. There was a 12.3 MP camera at the back and an 8 MP camera on the front. The Nexus 6P has a 3,450 mAh battery inside. It ran on Android Marshmallow out of the box. The last official update for this phone was Android Oreo. After the Nexus 6P, Google discontinued the series and launched the Google Pixel phones.
It’s really disappointing to see a powerful phone like the Nexus 6P not getting the official Android Pie. Only time will tell for how long this phone gets the love from the development community and keep getting the custom ROMs based on the latest Android versions. Let us get back to our mission and upgrade the Nexus 6P to Android Pie now.
While updating your Nexus 6P to Android 9.0 Pie, bear in mind that this is a custom ROM and it is subject to have bugs. If you do not know how to handle a custom ROM, pay extra attention to the steps given below. If you are afraid of custom ROMs, it is better to avoid them.
That’s all with the installation of Android Pie StatiXOS ROM on the Nexus 6P. The first boot can easily take up to 10 minutes so keep patience during this time. In case the phone doesn’t boot up or something else goes wrong, you can flash the stock ROM to recover the phone quickly.
