Get all Galaxy S8 features on S7 or S7 Edge with S8 Port ROM

Galaxy S8 is all set to hit the market in the US this April 21 and the other markets start from April 28. If you have a Galaxy S7 or a Galaxy S7 Edge and you don’t want to spend extra bucks to get your hands on a Galaxy S8, you can still get a glimpse of its software at the least. System dump of Galaxy S8 was made online right after the launch of this phone. This gave us a clear idea that ported ROMs of S8 are on the way for devices like Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6. That is what exactly happened.

A custom ROM based on the ROM of Galaxy S8 has made its way for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This ROM packs all the goodies that you have seen in the video reviews of the Galaxy S8. The ROM also adds the new virtual keys to the device’s bottom. You will get the Galaxy S8’s new Samsung experience, also the new UI for a lot of applications. Galaxy S8 has new UI exclusively for its applications and also for its new launcher. There are many other software end featuers which are only on Galaxy S8 features.

All these goodies of the S8 make the phone worth picking it up. It is supposed to cost $750+ which is not so easy to afford for most of the users. To avoid spending those bucks, you can flash the S8 ported ROM on your Galaxy S7/S7 Edge to give it a complete overhaul. The S8 Port ROM is completely debloated. It comes with Magisk module installed in it. The ROM is also Deknoxed and it has the 4-way reboot option in it. Developer of this ROM has tried to keep it close to stock firmware. This is different from the AOSP custom ROMs. The stock based custom ROMs come with Google Play Services installed in them as well.

In order to flash this ROM on your S7 or S7 Edge, your phone must have a latest Modem and Bootloader supporting Android Nougat. You also need to have the TWRP recovery installed on your phone to flash the ROM successfully. Flashing this ROM is a custom procedure and it will void your phone’s warranty. Be careful while following the instructions. If a mishap occurs, TechBeasts or the ROM developers may not be held responsible.

Here are some important precautions to consider in order to flash the ROM.

  • This ROM is compatible with SM-G930F variant of Galaxy S7 and SM-G935F variant of the Galaxy S7 Edge. Do not try it on any other device.
  • Charge your phone up to 50% to avoid power issues.
  • Backup your important contacts, call logs, contacts and media content.
  • Factory reset your phone to achieve a clean install.
  • Follow the rest of the steps to the letter.
