Galaxy S9 could feature its own AI engine inside the chipset

All flagship models from Samsung featured Bixby, the company’s AI assistant but it appears that the Galaxy S9 will provide something different. We’ve already known for sometime that the phone will feature an Exynos 9810.

Some of you might be disappointed that the Galaxy S9’s chipset will be made on the same 10nm architecture as the Exynos 8895 but here is where things get a little interesting. Samsung recently acquired an artificial intelligence company called DeePhi Tech.

Samsung has also made a huge investment in a UK-based artificial intelligence company. These series of investments show that the Galaxy S9 could be a smarter device than your average smartphone. Rumor has it that the Exynos 9810 will feature a neural engine that will allow it to become a smarter hardware component in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

This chipset could go a long way in ensuring that several things about the flagship are kept up and running. For example, all of Samsung’s 2017 flagship phones feature facial recognition but unfortunately, the level of security it provided was very poor in comparison to Apple’s Face ID. The involvement of this neural engine in the Galaxy S9 could mean that your facial recognition becomes a lot more competent.

Apart from this, the camera technology could also improve as the chipset’s neural engine will be able to determine the amount of light in surroundings and produce a much better image result thanks to these behaviors.

These are some of the few things that will enable the Galaxy S9 to become a smarter device than a smartphone but this development could also end up costing Samsung in terms of money.

This will only mean that the smartphone will eventually end up becoming a more expensive handset than the Galaxy S8 but if you have not yet upgraded to a flagship, then we recommend that you wait a while till the official announcement has taken place.
