Galaxy S9 could come with a bigger price and a 3-stack dual camera

If you have yet to upgrade to the Galaxy S9, chances are that it might come with a higher price than you were hoping to see. Though it might not be as expensive as the Galaxy Note 8, it could still be a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S8.

According to a new Korean report, the Galaxy S9 will shine in the camera category and just like the Galaxy Note 8, it will come with a dual-camera that will give it impressive and exclusive features. Unfortunately, this change in smartphone camera technology could result in Samsung charging the end customer a higher price tag.

“When Samsung Electronics applies 3-stack layer laminated image sensors to smartphone cameras next year, the ASP of camera modules will double or triple to US$ 60 to US$ 90 due to the installation of super high-priced image sensors, camera module parts and design changes among others.”

As a result, the retail price of the Galaxy S9 could be a lot higher. What we do know about the phone so far is that it will come with an Exynos 9810 chipset that is made on the 10nm FinFET technology and a bunch of other upgrades. If you have not yet upgraded to the Galaxy Note 8, then perhaps you should get prepared for the upcoming flagship.

The phone could also come with improved facial recognition but it is yet to be confirmed if the phone is going to be featuring 3D sensing technologies to rival the iPhone X. Looks like we will have to wait a while before we are sure that Samsung will be using these upgrades in its phone.
