Galaxy S8 render leaks hinting at a 3.5 mm jack and a USB-C port

For Samsung it has been a battle of ‘to be or not to be’ with the 3.5 mm jack. Rumors circulating earlier suggested that the company will ditch the 3.5 mm jack for Galaxy S8 after Apple did not use it in iPhone 7. Now a new render out suggests other wise. Samsung may not have gotten too bold with their next flagship and have taken on only what they can bite.With a lot of other design changes that the company promises to deliver, this one change would be implemented another time.

As to how true the render designs are, accessory makers usually get to know about the specifications of the device so that they can produce the cases for the device by the time the device hits the market. The leaked render at the bottom has an opening for the 3.5 mm jack. This means that the 3.5 mm jack will be part of the upcoming flagship device. Along with that it seems that a USB-C port will be a part of Galaxy S8.

At the rear of the case, we can see the cut out for the camera and it looks as if the rumored dual camera setup will also not be used in the smartphone. Even if Samsung ends up using the camera specs that they used for the Galaxy S7 that would be great as that device produces amazing images. On the side of the case, there are three buttons which is in alignment with the detail we saw in the Ghostek render which was out yesterday. The volume button and the power/stand by buttons are placed on one side. At top of the case, we can see the cut out for the micro-SD card, which is one of the coveted features among consumers.

More news regarding the Galaxy S8 will be popping up in the coming days. The device is expected either to launch the MWC 2017 or at a dedicated event on 18th April. The device is expected to hit the shelves in the middle of April as Samsung is taking the extra time to test and ensure that there are no issues like the one faced by Note 7.
