Galaxy A8 (2018) & Galaxy A8+ (2018) announced and come with high-end features for mid-range phones

Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) strongly resemble the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ thanks to the cutting down of bezels and transforming them into devices that come with mid-range specifications but with a premium design to boast about.

Both phones have an 18.5:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2220 x 1080. Both of them also use the Super AMOLED display technology for superior brightness and better battery life. The Galaxy A8+ (2018) gets the special treatment in terms of battery and hardware. It features a 3,500mAh battery and will be offered with up to 6GB of RAM. During the announcement, one of Samsung’s executives was excited to detail that mid-range phones will be offered with features belonging to high-end mobile phones.

“With the release of the Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018), we’re bringing our customers’ favorite features from our flagship smartphones, such as the Infinity Display and our first Dual Front Camera with Live Focus, to our Galaxy A series, which is already known for its premium design. The Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018) exemplify our continued dedication to meeting the needs of our consumers by providing them with greater choice and convenience.”

Both Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) also feature a dual front-facing camera. All camera specifications have been given below:

  • Rear camera: 16MP with f/1.7 aperture
  • Front camera: 16MP+8MP with f/1.9 aperture

Pricing of both phones have not been released by Samsung but according to the company, they will be available starting from January 2018. While wireless charging is not included, fast-charging and IP68 water resistance are present. There are going to be four color models available at launch: black, orchid grey, gold and blue but thanks to the Infinity Display and other premium things about the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018), you might see yourself paying a larger amount than you were normally used to paying.
