Fix Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Freezing and Unresponsive

I have noticed that many users at Samsung forums reporting about Galaxy Note 8 is Freezing and Unresponsive while using specific apps. I haven’t faced it yet but I can tell few tips to fix Galaxy Note 8 Freezing and Unresponsive. Let’s start it.

Following are the issues that people are telling about and I would address all the issues individually for your convenience.

Fix Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Freezing and Unresponsive:

Following are all the complains that users have reported on Samsung forums, first I’ll post the issue and then the solutions.

Note 8 Freezing and unresponsive :

Tap on contacts in the Phone app the phone freezes. I’m facing the same problem SM N950/DS

Android 7.1.1 – Samsung Experience 8.5

pls fix this bug a major problem if we can’t make calls smoothly.

Solution:

This not a hardware issue and the best solution I can suggest is to wait for the update form Samsung, but if you don’t want to wait then try the following steps.

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap on Apps.
  • Scroll down and Tap on Contacts.
  • Tap on Storage.
  • Tap on Clear Cache.

Now head back to home page and open contact apps. You won’t be facing the freezing issue on Galaxy Note.

Galaxy Note 8 Randomly Freezes:

I am having this problem also. This is really upsetting  since I was really looking forward to this phone after the Note 7 issues. Now I have to hard reset my phone a few times a week because it randomly freezes up on me. None of my previous phones ever did that.

Solution:

When you device act abnormally, Turn it off and follow the steps below.

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.
  • Release the power button once you see a logo, but keep holding home and Volume up keys.
  • Now when you see Android logo, let go both buttons.
  • Use the volume down button to navigate and highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Now use the power key to select the option.
  • You have to select ‘Yes‘ when you’ll be prompted to next menu.
  • Now wait for the process to be completed, once it’s done highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press power button to select it.
  • All Done.

Galaxy Note 8 stuck while using Excel or any other app.

froze while loading excel from an email, tried all different combos of buttons till it finally reset…. not cool, never had that with Apple or Samsung…

Solution:

Maybe this issue is triggering because of some third-party app, I would suggest put your device in Safe Mode and use for few hours and if you haven’t faced this issue that means for sure some culprit app is doing this. Follow the instructions below.

  • First, turn off your Galaxy Note 8.
  • Now press and hold the power key.
  • When you see Samsung Galaxy Note 5 logo, release the button and then press+hold the volume down button.
  • Don’t let go until your phone finishes the rebooting process.
  • When you see Safe Mode in the lower left corner of the screen let go the volume down button.

You need to now find the app which is behind all this mess, once you do please uninstall this app.

Galaxy Note 8 Restarting itself:

Problem:

2 days i back switched from apple phone to note 8. It is reallyvanniying ..apps are getting strucked and phone is restarting it self. I did’nt installed so many apps..i just installed few apps such as spotify, facebook, whatsapp. I purchased this mobile yesterday and today i went to t-mobile store, they said they don’t have the stock to replace. I took the some screen shots while phone got strucked and error messages. My device got restarted almost 8 times during the day.

If you have tried everything and nothing is worked for you then I would suggest that you need to wait for an update which will fix all these issues, If not then you can try Installing custom ROM on your Galaxy Note 8.

In order to do so follow the steps below:
