Fingerprint Not Working on Xiaomi Devices – TroubleShooting

Xiaomi Devices are getting popular more and more. This Chinese Consumer electronics company is getting a very good response from India. Since Xiaomi Devices have the Fingerprint sensor in their most devices, so like all other devices, they are also having issues with this features. Fix Fingerprint Not Working on Xiaomi Devices:

Heed the instructions below in order to Fix Fingerprint Not Working on all Xiaomi Devices. We have provided you with different solutions and workaround to fix this issue.

Please keep that in mind after trying these workarounds you have no luck that means you are facing a hardware issue. You need to go to the nearest Xiaomi service center to get it fixed.

Clear the Clear Cache of the Phone:

  • Open App Updater from the Settings.
  • Tap on the menu button.
  • Select Reboot to Recovery mode. Tap Reboot now.
  • When your device boots up, you’ll be in the recovery menu. Use Volume down button to highlight and use the power button to select it.
  • Select Wipe & Reset.
  • Tap on Wipe Cache and Tap yes for confirmation.
  • Once the cache is wiped, head back to the main menu using the back button.
  • Tap on Reboot.

Disable Don’t keep activities:

First, you need to enable the developer option on your device. Open Settings -> About Phone -> 5 times tap on MIUI version. It will enable the developer options. Heed the instruction below to disable Don’t keep activities.

  • Developer options → Disable “Don’t keep activities”.

Reset your Device:

  • Open App Updater from the Settings.
  • Tap on the menu button.
  • Select Reboot to Recovery mode. Tap Reboot now.
  • When your device boots up, you’ll be in the recovery menu. Use Volume down button to highlight and use the power button to select it.
  • Select Wipe & Reset.
  • Tap on Wipe all Data and Tap yes for confirmation.

Delete Files form Rooted Devices:

If you happen to own a rooted device. Heed the instructions to Fix Fingerprint Not Working on Xiaomi Device.

  • Open the File Manager -> go to data/system/. Look for two files with “.Key” extension and delete them. Moreover, delete the files containing the name “lock settings”.
  • Delete the following files as well.

/data/system/users/0/fpdata/user.db
/data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml
