Xiaomi announced the MIUI 9 back in August this year. MIUI 9 was undergoing testing so far. Xiaomi just announced the global MIUI 9 update today at its event where it introduced its new Y series of the smartphones. The MIUI 9 was supposed to come with massive improvements onboard. Xiaomi users have been anxiously waiting to know whether their device is compatible with this new firmware, and if it is compatible, then when the update is going to happen for them. Not only the company announced the global rollout of the MIUI 9, it also announced the devices that will be getting this new MIUI. 

In case you don’t already know about the MIUI, it is Xiaomi’s UI that runs over stock Android on the Xiaomi Android smartphones. Just like Samsung has its TouchWiz and Samsung Experience, Xiaomi has its MIUI. The core stays Android, it’s just the theming and modification on the top that comes bundled inside the MIUI. The new MIUI pulls out some cool UI changes. There are new and improved icon animations in this update. Smart photo editing just got better. Notifications have received an overhaul as well.

Automatic background activity management has been added to give your phone a performance and battery life boost. Cache management is also better in the new firmware. There are many other changes, the list is pretty long to discuss right now. For now, we will get back to what we are here for.
