Google has rolled out the latest version of Android, the Android 5.1 Lollipop now. Android 5.1 Lollipop brought some prominent improvements over the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The latest build enhances the performance and battery life a little bit more. Some quick settings icons have changed in the Android 5.1 Lollipop. Screen pinning has been revamped, device protection has been introduced, and some other minor changes including changes to the animations in the clock app have been made.
With the release of official Android 5.1 Lollipop, CyanogenMod also updated the aftermarket Android firmware. CyanogenMod 12.1 is out now, which is the unofficial and aftermarket Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. If you own a legacy device, which has been forgotten by its manufacturers and receives no further Android updates, you may update your device by means of a CyanogenMod 12.1 custom ROM right away. Also, the devices which are in the queue to receive the Android 5.1 officially, CyanogenMod 12.1 has already made its way for those devices and impatient power users can enjoy the latest and greatest Android version right now. Most of the developers use CyanogenMod 12.1 as the base for their ROMs, and other custom ROMs like ParanoidAndroid, OmniROM, SlimKat etc are already floating around now based on Android 5.1 or 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Custom ROMs like CyanogenMod are close to the pure stock Android and do not contain any bloatware applications. You’ve to install all the applications on your own. To pave a way for applications, you need to load Google GApps, which are not pre-installed in such ROMs. You need to find the correct version of Google GApps for your Android 5.1 or 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM and install it to load further applications on your Android device.
Just in case you are wondering what are Google GApps, you may want to know that these are the package of Google Applications which are pre-installed in stock Android firmware. These include applications like Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Play Music, Google Play Books, Calendar and more. These applications are necessary for an Android device as these also provide a base for many other applications. Without Google Play Services, certain applications crash. So, install correct GApps on a custom ROM is a must.

Hi Usama ,How can I just instal apps that I want and get rid of others because I don't want to instal all apps on my phone ,but there apps I want to instal it and it's available just in stock mode like google play music and google camera ...etc ,I wish you have an answer.
And if I instaled pico package and I want to exchange it with nano package can I do that without losing any data ??
@rewanwatti:disqus You can uninstall apps using any root app uninstall application. To install Nano package, you will have to wipe off pico package first. Nano package will be flashed but it won't replace the components of pico package. For that, I'll recommend flashing the ROM again and flashing Pico package from scratch. I hope this helps.
How can I wipe off pico package ??
@rewanwatti:disqus you will have to flash a ROM from scratch and perform a factory reset as well
