BlackBerry will be unveiling an Android powered smartphone which will have a QWERTY keyboard. The prototype of the device was present at the CES 2017. So, by the time the device unveils, we may see some changes. A new rumor suggests that Blackberry will make use of the same rear camera as Google Pixel.

There is no doubt that Google Pixel and Pixel XL have the best cameras which take some amazing images. This means that the rear camera will be 12MP and it will support 4K video recording. If BlackBerry Mercury indeed is making use of Pixel’s camera sensor this does not mean that the image quality will be the same as Google was worked on integrating the software and an additional sensor to achieve those results. The front facing camera will be an 8MP  Samsung S5K4H8/Omnivision OV8856.

According to the rumors BlackBerry Mercury will sport a 4.5-inch 1080 x 1680 resolution display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 821 processor and is accompanied by the Aderno 530 GPU. In addition, it will have 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Mercury will have a 3400mAh batter and will run Android 7.0 out of the box.

BlackBerry in their invitation said that they are bringing ‘something different’. Is that ‘difference’ in how they are introducing the keyboard for a smartphone or is it something else altogether. More about BlackBerry’s latest offering will be making rounds in the coming days, so stay tuned if you are excited to see what the company has worked on.
