BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are the new Android phones

BlackBerry launched 2 news smartphones in collaboration with its Indian partner Optiemus. The two phones include BlackBerry Evolve X and the BlackBerry Evolve. Both the phones run on Android Oreo. BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X sport some nice features. Let’s learn more about these phones.

BlackBerry Evolve

BlackBerry Evolve is the affordable variant of the two newly launched devices. BlackBerry Evolve has a 5.99-inch display having 18:9 screen-to-body ratio. The resolution is 1080P with the help of 403 PPI.

The BlackBerry Evolve is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Evolve has a 4GB RAM. Its internal storage is 64GB which can be further expanded with the help of a microSD card. BlackBerry Evolve has a dual-rear camera module. The dual camera setup has 2 shooters of 13MP each. The camera on the front has a 16MP sensor with LED flash.

The Evolve has a 4000 mAh battery under the hood. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The phone will cost around 310 EUR.

BlackBerry Evolve X

Evolve X is the expensive variant in this series. The Evolve X by BlackBerry also comes with a 5.99 inch display with 1080P resolution having 18:9 screen-to-body ratio. The Evolve X has Dolby Atmos tuned speakers. This phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU. It has a 6GB RAM and its internal storage is 6GB. These specs are similar to the BlackBerry Key 2.

The Evolve X also has a dual-rear camera setup having one shooter of 12MP and the other of 13MP. On the front, it has a 16MP shooter as well. The Evolve X has a 4,000 mAh battery as well. This phone will be offered only in black color. The Evolve X will cost around 440 EUR.

Ending Note

The main difference between both these devices is the CPU and RAM. Unlike the Key 2, these phones do not have physical keyboards. These are all screen phones. The mid-rangers by regular Android phone manufacturers have much better specifications under a similar price tag. I’m not sure what BlackBerry is trying to achieve here especially when there are many greater and better options are already there. Let me know what do you think about the two new phones by BlackBerry?
