The Neural Networks API will allow apps to take advantage of hardware acceleration. This will result in reduced latency, and network loads. An added benefit will be that it will keep sensitive data on the device itself from being accessed. If your phone also features a dedicated AI chip like the Huawei Mate 10 or Honor V10, the API will be able to take advantage of it. If not, it will put the load on the CPU instead.
Pixel Visual Core might be exclusive to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL but it will use machine learning and image processing to come up with better camera results. Apps that use the Android Camera API will be able to shoot in HDR+ and we also forgot to mention that 3rd-party app developers will be able to take advantage of this.
With the release of the Android Oreo 8.1 update, Google has also introduced its Android Oreo (Go edition) for budget devices so you might want to check out this bit of news if you will purchase an affordable Android smartphone anytime in the near future.
