Alcatel is all set for their MWC event which is scheduled for 27th February. The company has sent out invitations for the ‘Light Up‘ event. Alcatel has big plans under work as they will be announcing 5 new smartphones at the event. Details about the devices are a bit sketchy at the moment but we will be looking at one modular device from Alcatel too.
The modular design concept is quite interesting as it allows users to enhance the functionality of their devices by adding ‘mods’ at the back. LG with their flagship G5, last year went with a module design which got a lukewarm response from the consumers and this year they have ditched this idea. Motorola and Lenovo also introduced a modular design with Moto Z which was quite popular and it is expected that this year they will be announcing new Moto Mods.
Alcatel claims that it will be introducing some unique ideas with the same concept. We cannot wait to see how they get creative and add in their own flavor. One of the rumored mods will have colorful LED lights that would glow with the beat of the music. According to the scant info that we got on this device, it will have a MediaTek chipset and 13MP main camera. It will be priced around 320 Euros. We don’t have any information on the rest of the devices but as soon as we hear any chatter, we will update you on that.
