Battery is one aspect that is going to haunt Samsung after the exploding battery fiasco of Note 7. After which the company introduced a strict testing regimen for the devices to ensure that this does not happen again. Along with that for Samsung’s new flagship the company has diversified its battery suppliers. Samsung will be procuring batteries from Samsung SDI, Murata Manufactures and Sony.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a 3000mAh battery and Galaxy S8+ will have a 3500mAh battery. A image of a 3,500mAh battery which will be making its way in Galaxy S8+ has emerged online. It does confirm that the earlier speculations are true. Well along with that the details on the battery pack conform that it was manufactures in South Korea and assembled in Vietnam by Samsung SDI.
One of the concerns that users have is that for a 6.2-inch device a 3500mAh battery is inadequate. We do have to remember that Galaxy S8 makes use of Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipset which has been produced using the 10nm fabrication process. Production through this ensures that the device is 20% more energy efficient than their predecessor. Keeping that in view 3,500 mAh battery will be adequate. The rest whether the battery explodes or not, will be known after April 21 as people get their hands on the device.
