Back in February 2017, Comcast, the famous cable provider in the US announced XFINITY Stream as a replacement of the XFINITY TV App. The application was designed for the Comcast cable subscribers. The purpose of this application was to deliver live TV and on-demand shows. In addition to that, the XFINITY Stream application was also loaded with support for Comcast’s internet TV. It was aimed at cord-cutters and Stream TV as well.

XFINITY Stream is an exclusive service for the Comast subscribers which means that you can use it only if you are an existing customer. The only thing between you and those thousands of movies/TV Shows on XFINITY Stream is an internet connection. Once you are connected, you get access to a whole new world of unique titles.

  1. A lot easier way exists. I logged into using the new Microsoft Edge Chromium (Chrome-based) browser. Then I installed the website as an app from the browser’s menu (click the dot dot dot menu, then “Apps,” then “install this site as an app”). Now, when I run the Xfinity/stream “app” and click on the Xfinity Stream icon (looks like a PC monitor or TV), I can view live TV and my recordings as expected.
