HMD Global will be announcing 4 Nokia branded smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in an event scheduled for 26th February. Whiting’s, a company acquired by Nokia last year announced on their Twitter account that they will be joining Nokia for an exciting key note announcement.
Whiting is known for manufacturing health devices like trackers but they have built a smartwatch too. Whitings ventured into the smartwatch arena back in 2014 by launching Activite Sapphire. Then in 2015 they launched Activite Steel and Activite Pop. The smartwatches produced are compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
At the moment Whitings works under Nokia Technologies Digital Health division, so there is a likely probability that Nokia may unveil or announce their plans for new wearbales that they will announce later this year. This would be a chance for Nokia brand to diversify their products and show that apart from smartphones they will be venturing with other projects too.
