Update Newman N1 to Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat Un-Official Firmware

Previously we posted the Micromax A110 Kit-Kat update. Although it was un-official and today we have another one of the MediaTelk device which received the update of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The ROM is custom, based on latest KitKat version released for Motorola XT919 / XT920. It also includes the latest KitKat Custom Kernel, and a lot of work has been done to remove a lot of Bugs and problems in it. If you are looking for a Custom ROM which is also based on the latest version available, this might be the best option for you. Newman N1 or Freelander i10 or for your Digma iDxD4, they are different names for the same device.

There were a lot of changes made, after the Beta version and also the installation method has been made simpler and easier. No need to insert both the SIMs before the installation and taking them out and putting them in again and again to solve the errors, because with the update of Beta 2, it was removed and now this Stable version has removed all of the bugs. This is not an official release but a Custom ROM. You need to install a Custom Recovery on your device to install this and also your device must be rooted. Early Preparations:


The methods involved in flashing custom recoveries, roms and rooting your phone are highly custom and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturer. Also rooting your device will void its warranty and you will be no longer eligible for any kind of free device services by the manufacturers/warranty providers. In case of any mishap we may not be held responsible. How To Install Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat:

  • Connect your device with PC.
  • Copy and Paste the Above zip files to the root of your sdcard.
  • Open Recovery mode. How?
  1. Connect your device with PC
  2. Open Command Prompt in Fastboot folder. [ADB & Fastboot Tools]
  3. Now Type: adb reboot bootloader
  4. Choose Recovery from Bootloader

Into the Recovery:

  1. Back-up your ROM using the Recovery.
  2. To Perform a Back-up, Navigate to Back-up and Restore on Next screen, Choose Back-up again.
  3. Go back to Main Screen after the Back-up is complete.
  4. Then Navigate to ‘advance’ and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’, so you won’t get in any bootloop.
  5. Navigate to ‘Install zip from sd card’ another windows will open in front of you.
  6. Finally Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”
  7. Select ‘choose zip from sd card’ from the Options.
  8. Select the Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat.zip file and confirm the installation on next screen.
  9. Go Back and Flash Google Apps.zip
  10. Once the Installation is Over, Select +++++Go Back+++++
  11. Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

The first boot might take up-to half an hour, so better play a game or get yourself a cup of coffee or Tea۔
