Just yesterday it was mentioned that we will be looking at two new BlackBerry smartphones by TCL this year. Both the smartphone will not have the iconic QWERTY keyboard just like the one seen in BlackBerry KEYone which the company recently announced at the Mobile World Congress. It seems as if BlackBerry already has these smartphones under development, as today we got to see the alleged images of BlackBerry BBC100-1.
BlackBerry for their comeback has decided to license the production of the devices to other companies, as they themselves will work on the software and security aspect of the devices. For that purpose that have formed partnerships with TCL and PT BB Mehra Putih. It seems that BB100-1 will be mid-ranger and has been developed for the Indonesia market by PT BB Mehra Putih.
As far as the specs of the device go, the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch HD display with 720p resolution. Under the hood it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 which is clocked at 1.4Ghz , paired with a 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone will have dual-sim support as is the case with devices that go on sale in Asian markets. But this will be the first time that a BlackBerry device will have dual-sim support. In addition it will run Android 7.0 Nougat and will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
Whether or not this device will be available in other markets apart from Indonesia is a question we will get an answer on in the coming days. But without doubt BlackBerry will equip it with their best apps to make it secure.
