Unc0ver 3.5.x – Jailbreak iOS 12.4 iPhones & iPads

Unc0ver, the famous Jailbreak tool has received an update. The developer, pwn20wnd, took it to twitter to announce the version 3.5 of Unc0ver. Unc0ver 3.5 is one of the biggest releases as it Jailbreaks a new iOS version. This has happened for the very first time in a couple of years that a current stable version of iOS has been Jailbroken. Previously, the Unc0ver 3.3.0 allowed Jailbreaking of the iOS 12.2, 12.1 and prior. If you were stuck with the iOS 12.2 because you didn’t have Jailbreak for the latest iOS 12.4, it’s time to update your iPhone/iPad now.

The Unc0ver 3.5.x supports all iPhones and iPads powered by the Apple A7-A11 chipsets. One thing to note here is that this doesn’t support iOS 12.3. If your device is currently on iOS 12.3, you will have to update it and if it’s on iOS 13 beta, you will have to downgrade to iOS 12.4.

Here is a list of all the supported devices.

  • iPhone 5
  • Apple iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • Apple iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 8

Jailbreak – a brief intro

For those who don’t know, Jailbreaking your iOS device allows modification of the operating system. On a Jailbroken device, you can install tweaks, change the UI of the phone, add new features, and change the behavior of existing features. The custom scripts can access the system files of your Jailbroken iOS device. While Jailbreak opens the doors for a limitless world of customization, it puts your device on risk at the same time. Jailbreak users have to be extra careful while installing tweaks. Apple does not recommend Jailbreaking an iPhone. If you have planned to finally Jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, you must take complete responsibility for what you are doing.
