Now wondering what to do with your rooted phone?

Here’s the answer for you!

Rooting your phone gives you complete access over all the data which is apparently locked by the manufacturers. This includes removal of the factory restrictions and making changes to the internal system and the operating system. Gaining the root access gives you the privileges to install various applications to enhance the performance of your device, allows you to remove the built-in applications/programs, helps you to upgrade the battery life of your device & install the apps which require the root access for the proper functionality and modify your device in so many other ways e.g using mods and custom ROMs.

How to keep Root after OTA Updates

The OTA updates rolled out by the manufacturers wipe the root access on your phone. In case you don’t know how you can restore the root access after OTA update, you’ll have to root your phone once again, but there is no need to do it as you can restore it using the OTA Rootkeeper App which is available in the Google Play Store. The app creates backup of your root and simply restores it after any OTA update.

That’s all. We hope that you find our guide helpful and easy to use. In case you got any problems, feel free to leave us a comment, we will try our best to sort it out. Thank You All!

  6. @usamamujtaba:disqus it seems that when i plug my phone into my computer the ODIN program wont read my galaxy, as the ID:COM doesnt turn blue or yellow. i’ve done everything in your instructions and i keep getting the same problem.

  7. I face the same issue as @saisandeepdammati:disqus
When tried to enter CWM mode Vol+ + Home + Power. It just goes to power loop.
Have also tried with Chotu’s.tar image. Still same.
Also tried following @usamamujtaba:disqus but no luck.

    Build: JDQ39.I9082XXUBMJ3
    O.S: 4.2.2

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

      • @usamamujtaba:disqus Thanks. I had already tried your method. but that too failed.
Same condition. Only enters Boot Loop.
Seems these CWMs do not work on new i9082.

        Any help is appreciated.

        Thanks.

        • @anish_pillai:disqus The method i attached above, works perfect. Make sure that your phone is Galaxy Grand Duos, Follow this guide to the letter. The screen shots attached above are from my very own Galaxy Grand running Philz Advanced CWM, I suspect that you are missing some step or doing something wrong.

Please do this. Flash a stock firmware, and then flash this recovery and flash SuperSu as explained above.

        • @anish_pillai:disqus Also make sure that you are pressing the 3 button combination properly to boot into CWM. I also suspect that the previous cwm method has crashed your recovery, you might have to fllash stock firmware and then root and install cwm using this method.

  8. i was very confused about using odin. I failded few times. Successful this time. I think people should be patient. Try again n again before saying the method doesnt work. If you are not super lucky and super genius, it may not be successsful for you in first try.

    • @disqus_P7SPuapF0H:disqus can you please name the file that you flashed? Coz its not possible if you followed the above method properly. The guide is verified and working, find the screenshots.

  11. @mahidgumampong:disqus make sure that your phone is plugged in download mode. Also make sure that you’ve installed all the drivers properly. This seems to be a connection issue.

  20. hi!i have just now followed your above given steps..odin shoed it has passed..and when i tried to boot into recovery mode it flashes samsung symbol again and again but the cwm doesn’t appear nor system recovery.later i directly installed super su from play store and it showed no binary has installed.then i have installed root checker it showed my device isn’t rooted.plz help me out to root my sumsung galaxy grand duos and get that cm recovery too.hope i get a helpful reply.

    • @disqus_ok1tSBbLCz:disqus turn off the auto reboot option and flash the recovery again. Once flashing is over, boot into CWM recovery without reboot the device. To do so, pull out the battery and turn on the phone in recovery mode. This will probably boot your phone into recovery now. If this solution doesn’t work, then flash a stock firmware and then flash this recovery afterwards. Best of luck.
