How to Enable Missing Outdoor Mode on Galaxy S7/S8/S9 and Note 5/Note 8

There is an outdoor mode on the Samsung Galaxy phones which brighten ups the display when you go out in the sunlight. The outdoor mode is available in almost all the Samsung Galaxy handsets. This option is enabled by default. It appears in the display settings. You can choose to turn it off if you don’t want your phone to show you an extra bright display.

For some reason, Samsung started hiding this option in its flagship devices. If you have a look at the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus, S9, S9 Plus or the Note 8, you will not be able to find the outdoor mode option in the settings. The display is bright in the sunlight, but there’s no option to control the outdoor mode on the phone. The option is still there in all the mid-range and low-end Galaxy phones. Samsung just removed it from its high-end phones.

Dr.Ketan, a friend of mine had a chance to look into what’s going on and he found out that the outdoor mode is still there. Samsung has just hidden it for some unknown reasons. Dr.Ketan was able to successfully trigger the outdoor mode in the phones. To make it easy for all the Galaxy handset users, he made a small APK.

Installing the APK enabled the outdoor mode on the phones. You can find the Outdoor mode toggle in the notification panel as well with the help of this application. Here is the method to enable missing outdoor mode on Galaxy S7/S8/S9 and Note 5/Note 8.
