About the Galaxy Note 9

Samsung released the Galaxy Note 9 earlier this month. This is the most powerful device by Samsung to date. The Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with a Super AMOLED 6.4 inch display. This display has QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. Galaxy Note 9’s display has 18:9 screen-to-body ratio. There is an 8MP camera mounted right on the top of the display.

At the back, the Galaxy Note 9 has a dual camera. This dual camera system has been borrowed from the Galaxy S9+. There is a 12MP shooter in this dual system which has a telephoto lens. The other 12MP shooter has the variable aperture. Galaxy Note 9 can capture stunning photos and shoot mindblowing videos up to 4K resolution.

Under the hood, the Note 9 is powered by Exynos 9810 CPU or the Snapdragon 845 SoC. Galaxy Note 9 has a RAM of 6GB with 128GB internal storage or a RAM of 8GB with 512GB internal storage. The Note uses the USB Type-C for connection purposes. Samsung has also added the HDMI to USB Type-C support in this phone in order to make it work as a PC.

There is a whopping 4,000 mAh battery in this phone. Samsung has optimized the software to give the best battery results with optimal performance. The Note 9 runs on Android Oreo out of the box. This phone supports project treble which means it will be getting newer versions of Android in time.

The Note 9 has a smart S-Pen. The Bluetooth-enabled S-Pen charges itself inside the Note. It takes 40 seconds for the S-Pen to charge which can last for about 30 minutes. The S-Pen then can be used to control different applications. For example, out of the box, the S-Pen can launch Camera application and capture pictures. The Pen can be mapped according to your own liking.

About the TWRP custom recovery

For those who have absolutely no idea about a custom recovery, let’s clear everything about it first. The TWRP recovery stands for Team Win Recovery Project. At the time of writing this, this is the only custom recovery available for thousands of Android phones. The TWRP recovery runs in the bootloader of an Android phone. It has a lot of perks.

At first, the TWRP gives the users an opportunity to back up all the partitions on a phone. One can select EFS, Nandroid and other partitions to save a backup in the internal storage.

There is a Wipe option in the TWRP recovery. This Wipe option can be used to format data which is equal to performing a factory reset, but without losing your data. The advanced options under wipe let you select between Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, and Internal Storage. One can quickly fix a phone that’s acting weird by simply wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache.

The TWRP recovery’s most useful feature is the ability to flash files. It can flash .zip and the .img files. This feature is useful for flashing files like Magisk and SuperSU in order to root the Note 9. The custom ROMs also come packed inside .zip files. Boot images usually come in .img files. So, if you have any such file, use the install feature to flash it on your Note 9.

The TWRP is loaded with many other features like the ADB Terminal and tweaking the partitions of the device. Overall, it’s a good piece of software to have on your phone as it can be a savior for your phone.

How to download Galaxy Note 9 TWRP recovery

Assuming that the Note 9 owners have understood each and everything, let’s proceed with the TWRP flashing instructions. While installing the TWRP, bear in mind that this is a custom recovery and it will void the warranty of your phone. When it comes to the custom processes, a user must understand all the risks involved. In case of a mishap, TechBeasts, the recovery developer or the device maker should not be held responsible.
