Galaxy S8 that turned off by itself and no longer charges:

If you were using your device and it goes off without any reason then I think it can be fixed. Sometimes your firmware or your system got crashed and in result your device is dead. Moreover, maybe an app or a group of apps can trigger such issue. Since we cannot determine which is the main reason, we’ll start the troubleshooting.

First, Press and Hold both Volume Down and Power button for 10 seconds. This will forcefully reboot your device, assuming your device has some battery juice left. Your device will boot Up normally, if not then try the following.

  • Make sure there is no dirt on your charging port.
  • Charge your device at least for 10 minutes. Try the wall charger to get results.
  • You can use your PC to charge your device if wall charger was no help.

Sometimes your device battery is drained out because of system crash or firmware. Since there is no juice left in the battery to kick hardware components. Your device won’t be responding to force restart. Puting your device on charging while holding the power button will give a push to the hardware parts. In result of that your hardware will start working and the parts which were not syncing before, they start working and your device will be back.

Both the methods given above will be the one you should try when your Samsung Galaxy S8 went completely dead.

Check for signs of both physical and liquid damages:

This is a very important part. You must check that your device has no physical nor liquid damages. Because you find any then don’t waste your time reading this post. I would suggest getting help from professionals. Still, you want to see for yourself before head over to the service station. Then look for any dents or cracks, because if your device is fired up physical then it should leave a mark. In order to investigate liquid damages, you have to go through with a lot and I would not suggest that you would do that.

Run your Galaxy S8 in Safe mode:

Try running your device in Safe mode, if you can do it successfully that means still there is hope. As I said earlier that sometimes an app or a group of apps can do this. A culprit app can easily crash your system. Let’s boot your device into Safe mode.

  • When you see Samsung Galaxy S8 logo, release the button and then press+hold the volume down button.
  • Don’t let go until your phone finishes the rebooting process.
  • When you see Safe Mode in the lower left corner of the screen let go the volume down button.

Once you are in the Safe mode, try using it for few hours to see how it goes. If your device is running without any issue that means apps were the reason behind all this fuss. First, delete the most recent apps you have installed, then reboot your device. If your device boots up normally, no need to go further. If your device still in the same condition you need to factory reset your device.

Uninstall Apps:

  • One your Android device, open Settings > Applications / Applications Manager > All Apps
  • Scroll all the way down and locate App.
  • Tap App to open its settings.
  • Tap on Un-install.
  • Restart your device.
