Nokia isn’t the only brand making a come back this year, BlackBerry is also coming back with an Android powered smartphone which will announced at the MWC 2017 next month. On Twitter BlackBerry posted that ‘Something Different’ is coming our way on 25th February.

BlackBerry will be unveiling a smartphone code named ‘Mercury‘ at the event. We did get to see this device at the CES 2017, where a prototype was present, so people could see what the company is working on. In addition, the BlackBerry team did mention that it was a prototype and the final version may end up with some new features. BlackBerry this time around has gone for a larger display and a QWERTY keyboard which is very rare is the smartphone market today. They seem to be working on bringing the best features from their past iconic and mixing it with what people need today.

BlackBerry Mercury will be powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with 3GB RAM and will have Android Nougat right out of the box. Other features and specs are now known yet, but going by what we saw at the CES 2017, they company has a good chance of making a comeback. They need to bring back what made them great and amalgamate it with the innovative tech present right now. Along with that if they focus of a specific category, like the business sector and provide exclusive features which they need, well then they have a good chance.
