Xperia Z5 Premium: World’s Phone With 4K Display

Sony Xperia Z5 couldn’t get any better! Sony has done a great job at IFA 2015, Berlin. Sony fans who were disappointed after coming across a Z5 with a full HD display, Sony kept a perfect surprise for them. Alongside the standard Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Compact, Sony unveiled a third device as well which finally met the expectations of its die hard fans.Z5-Prime-design

Until now, the phone with the highest pixel per inch was the Galaxy S6 i.e. 577 ppi, but Sony seems to break all the records and put it rival far behind. Sony Xperia Z5 premium sports an enchanting 5.5-inch 4K display with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and 806 ppi. This higher resolution will definitely make the objects on the screen look more alive and far better then an ordinary 1080p or a QHD screen. Xperia Z5 premium’s top selling point may be its display, but there’s quite more to have a look at in this device.

Design & Build

For all three new devices, Sony followed the same design concept. The Xperia Z5 Premium sports the same unibody OmniBalance design. The phone is packed inside a frosted glass and surrounded by a metallic frame with round edges adding to its beauty. The new key arrangement on the Z5 series takes the volume rocker a little bit down besides the camera key on the right side of the phone. The circular power key has been replaced by an elliptical.

Camera, Processor, Memory

like Xperia Z5 & Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium also carries a 23 MP Exmor RS sensor shooter at the back with all new enhancements of Sony including the world’s fastest autofocus feature and more. The selfie shooter is 5 MP. Sony has put all its efforts on improving the camera of new flagships. The new camera has been used exclusively for the Xperia Z5 family.

Sony has powered up all three new devices with Snapdragon 810 octa core CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz accompanied by Adreno 430 GPU. Under the hood we have a 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage supported by external SD Card slot. Original Xperia Z5 has a 2900 mAh battery, but since the Z5 Premium sports a 4K display, Sony added a larger (3430 mAh) battery. Xperia Z5 Premium weighs at 180g and its dimensions are 154.4 x 76.0 x 7.8 mm.

Xperia Z5 Premium runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The device will be available worldwide from November, 2015. Pricing details are not available yet.

Sony was facing criticism from the users for not introducing a phone with a display higher then 1080p for quite a while. Earlier when Sony came up with Xperia Z4 all of a sudden, other manufacturers like Samsung, LG and Motorola were done using the top-notch specifications in their smartphones. Sony surprised its users with the world’s first 4K smartphone and then by introducing a camera with world’s fastest autofocus. Let us know what do you think of the Xperia Z5 Premium, and are you planning to get your hands on one?
