Earlier this week, Sony announced its completely redesigned Xperia X series consisting of Xperia X, Xperia Performance and Xperia XA. Apart from that we had been waiting for an announcement regarding the new Xperia Z series. Apparently, the wait is of not use now as solid evidence just surfaced claiming that Sony might be dropping the Xperia Z series.
A fan inquired Sony mobile Germany about the Xperia Z series, in response to that Sony replied to the comment stating that the X series will be replacing the Z series. They further clarified that the Z6 rumors are just hoax, instead X series will now take place as a flagship for the year 2016. Unfortunately, Sony wont be revealing the X series before June.
Sony embarks on a new beginning with changing their flagship series to a completely redesigned models. Although this should be noted that Xperia Performance resembles considerably to the Xperia Z5, although the build material is different. The new X series uses a back plate made out of brushed metal instead of glass (like in Z5). Apart from that, we saw Samsung and LG to continue their flagships with S7 series and G5 respectively.

The Xperia X and Xperia X Performance feature Sony’s next-gen cameras named ” Predictive Hybrid Focus.” This camera is a result of a joint venture with Sony’s camera engineers who made is possible to select a subject in your picture frame and predict its motion. This will result in pictures without any blur. Moving on the design of the brand new series, all X series smartphone feature a curved glass display along with a rounded yet continuous frame. As far as the Xperia XA is concerned, it features an edge-to-edge display. These smartphones will be available in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold.
