Xiaomi released an official teaser of its Mi Max

Couple of days ago, we saw a report which claimed that Xiaomi might be revealing a massive phablet sporting a 6.4-inch QHD screen. The name of the handset, Xiaomi Max, was chosen by the company via a public poll. In addition to that, previous rumors suggested that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 820. Moreover a fingerprint scanner and full network support for all Chinese carriers was also hinted. Soon after that, a set of images from Xiaomi’s production leaked, featuring the aforementioned gigantic device. As of now, the company officially released the first ever teaser of their Mi Max phablet.

The teaser clearly shows that the huge phablet can easily/comfortably be carried in your jean’s pocket, however considering the size of the phone, this must be one large pocket.

Other than that, there are some other things worth noting. For instance, the missing Mi logo at the top and the new arrangement of the earpiece, sensor and the camera. In addition to that, the smartphone doesn’t have thin bezels on its sides, which were hinted in some leaked panel images we received earlier on. Thus, it can be safely speculated that the Mi Max might not be a high-end device, however Xiaomi announced that the Mi Max is in fact a brand new device, which has no roots in the existing Mi and Redmi series.

As far as the announcement of the handset is concerned, various sources claim that the unveiling might take place somewhere in May. Unfortunately, we haven’t yet received any other solid rumors yet, however we can expect them to start flowing in soon Xiaomi have already set up the official Xiaomi Max Weibo account. So stay tuned for the latest news.
