Xiaomi, a China based smartphone manufacturer, is well- known in the Asian market for its provision of quality products at relatively low prices. Xiaomi is set to unveil its all new flagship, Mi 5, on the upcoming MWC event. Although the company had been targeting the Asian markets so far, this release will be a their first step in the international market. So for the non-Asian Xiaomi lovers who had to buy their smartphones via various 3rd party suppliers, now will have access to the latest version in their homeland.
Since the past few weeks many leaks, rumors and some official announcements featuring the Mi 5 have surfaced. Thanks to a well-known tech blogger, Weibo, we just received another leaks which further reveals various features of the upcoming flagship.
Xiaomi Mi 5 will be featuring a 2.15 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, which was confirmed by company’s CEO Lei Jun. Furthermore, Mi 5 will be carrying a 5.2 inch display along with 16MP rear and 4MP front camera. Xiaomi is expected to use the same USB Type-C port like the one featuring in Mi4c. USB Type-C port is a very convenient accessory owing to their size and reversibility. These ports will work regardless the way they are inserted into the device. That’s not all folks, allegedly Mi 5 will come out with two different variants. The first variant will have a 32 GB internal storage, 2,910 mAh battery and 4 GB of RAM. As far as the other brother is concerned, Weibo claimed that it will include a 64GB internal storage and a massive 6 GB of RAM. Don’t get your hopes high guys, not long after this leak, another picture of Mi 5 surfaced which discarded Weibo’s speculations. Apparently the second variant features a 64 GB internal storage with 3 GB of RAM powered by the same 2910 mAh battery.
Moreover, as mention in the picture above the Mi 5 will be running on the Android Marshmallow 6.0. Marshmallow was released last year with numerous new goodies including a completely new app drawer, redesigned app permissions, Doze, and Google Now on Tap.
