Verizon launches update which allows Samsung Gear S2 to support iPhones

Today Verizon Wireless officially started rolling out an update for the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatches which adds supports for the Apple iPhones.

Verizon is considered one of the slowest carriers, however they are almost always ahead of everyone in providing updates for their devices. This time, they beat everyone in launching an update for the Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic which adds a support for iPhones running iOS 8.4 or later. This update upgrades the smartwatch’s software version to R730VVRU1BPC1.

Well why should you buy a Samsung Gear S2 instead of the Apple Watch you ask ? For starters, you would be getting a far better device for a considerably lower price. Apart from the price, Gear S2 offers many advantages over the Apple Watch – such as better battery, round display and a rotating bezel which is used for navigation purposes.

Samsung offers two different variants for the Gear S2 – a sporty Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic which offers a more elegant and stylish look. In addition to that, you can buy easily interchangeable bands for your Gear S2 against some extra money.

For customers who already own a Samsung Gear S2 and an iPhone, you should be getting the official update for your smartwatch soon.
