This ROM works with all variants of Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 including SM-T310, SM-T311 & SM-T315. The ROM is in very early development stages. A lot of features are expected to crash so flash it only if you’re willing to have a look and feel of Marshmallow on your Galaxy Tab 3. This ROM may not be kept as a daily driver at all. Follow the instructions listed below carefully to avoid any mishap. Let’s have  a look on some precautions and then upgrade our beloved Tab 3 8.0 T310, T311 and T315 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow CyanogenMod 13 custom ROM.nexusae0_GALAXY-Tab-3-8-inch-1

Precautions:

  1. This ROM is intended for Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 T310, T311. Do not try flashing this ROM on any other device otherwise, you will result in bricking it. Check your device’s model number under settings > about the device.
  2. Charge your phone up to 50% to avoid any power issues during the flashing process.
  3. Flash a custom recovery on your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 T310, T311.
  4. Backup everything including your important contacts, call logs and text messages.
  5. Don’t forget to create a Nandroid backup. This is highly recommended so that you can revert back to your previous system in case of a mishap.
  6. Backup EFS partition to avoid EFS corruption later on.
  7. Follow the instructions to the letter.

Disclaimer: Flashing custom ROMs voids the warranty of a device and its not recommended officially. While you’re going to do this, make sure that you’re doing this at your own risk. In case of a mishap TechBeasts, Samsung or the device manufacturers may not be held responsible.

  1. I follow all the instructions for my SM-T310 and I keep getting the setup wizard stops working, any hints on how to get passed this?

  2. Great!!! it worked for my SM-T311 but the upgrade is draining the battery quite fast… Earlier i had to charge my device once a week but now every 36hrs.. is this expected?

    Thanks,

  3. My SM-T310 is on the booting screen for an hour now and the CPU is pretty hot. I did wipe the dalvik cache and the cache before this (second) try of powering on. Any tips before I install the official rom?

  4. Very nice rom, easy instructions, worked first time no hassles on my T310, no long wait times or any of the problems below.

      • Thanks for the prompt reply. I had noticed the smaller gapp files only much later. I was hoping to install play store only to download apps. So would the pico gapp have it? Or is it advisable to use micro to avoid missing apps that may be needed to work in tandem with the play store?

  5. I am gonna try this on my device. Approximately how long would it take? and what if I reset the device prior to turning it off? Does it matter?
Also, would it be helpful for the better functioning of the tab?
    Any drawbacks or risks?

  6. @disqus_hMYSdTDQ17:disqus 10-15 minutes.
    Backup everything before going ahead.
yes reset the device before flashing the new ROM.
Can’t say anything about the functionality, this ROM is supposed to give you the upgraded version of Android.

Since this is a custom ROM, you are completely on your own.
