Samsung’s new metallic series, that took birth with the Galaxy Alpha. Samsung Later on introduced Galaxy A series and Galaxy E series. Unlike the Galaxy Alpha, these devices were packed up completely in metallic build. Samsung used a very elegant design for all these devices. Galaxy E series falls in mid-rangers, which prompted a hefty number of users to get their hands on this device. The device’s specifications meet the user of an average Android user. An elegant design and premium build negates all the criticism that Samsung has had in the past for making cheap plastic-build smartphones.

The Galaxy E5 flaunts a beautiful 5.0-inch 720p screen. Samsung used a Quad Core 1.2 GHz CPU to power this device up. A camera of 8 megapixels is fixed at the back, selfie shooter is 5 megapixels. A RAM of 1.5 GB, internal storage 16 GB and microSD card slot were also a part of this device. Galaxy E5 packs up a battery of 2400 mAh. Out of the box, the Galaxy E5 ran on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box.

When the Galaxy E5 made its first appearance, Android 4.4.4 KitKat was the latest firmware that Samsung could use in its handset. Galaxy E5 happened to be pretty lucky, Samsung promised its users to update the device to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as well. Good news for Galaxy E5 landed a month ago when Samsung finally started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for the device.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop brought all the lollipop sweetness to this device. It brought a completely new and enhanced TouchWiz UI that was design according to Google’s Material design. The new firmware also brought application enhancements. Core enhancements improved the battery life and performance of the device. Galaxy E5 itself sports a smooth build and design, so having a smooth software running on the screen must have added to the comfort of this device.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is around for quite a while, but it hasn’t landed in so many regions yet. Only a few lucky regions have come under the influence of this update.
