Google’s Pixel smartphones were one of the best devices of the year. Now people are looking forward to what the company will bring this time around, what new features will be there and who will they be outsourcing the hardware production to. One of the details that has emerged today is the code name give to the next ‘Made by Google‘ Pixel smartphones. According to Android Police, the upcoming Google Pixel smartphones will be codenamed ‘Muskie’ and ‘Walleye’.
From the codenames it is clear that Google will again be bringing two Pixel smartphones. This is similar to what was seen in 2016 when the company announced Pixel and Pixel XL. The major difference between the two will be the display size. From the names it is expected that the Walleye will be the smaller device and Muskie will be the larger device. This information comes from the one of the Android Open Source Project and the source is 90% sure that these will be the names used.
We will most probably be looking at the new Pixel smartphones in September/October 2017, about the same time when Pixel came out last year. Not much about the specs is known at this point but one of the aspects confirmed is that Pixel devices will be premium handset, as Rick Osterloh confirmed that there will be no mid range Pixel devices. More about the new Pixel smartphones will start popping up in the coming days.
