Install Latest TWRP Recovery On Samsung Galaxy Note 4 [Exynos & Qualcomm – All Variants]

TeamWin custom recovery project, famously known as TWRP custom recovery is now available for the Galaxy Note 4’s all variants including the Exynos and Snapdragon (Qualcomm) variants. In case you don’t know much about the TWRP recovery, you sure would like to know that out of the only two famous custom recoveries, TWRP is the one, which offers a great and easy-to-use UI and a number of functions that are usually not available in the pure CWM recovery. TWRP is a complete touch recovery, that is available for a number of devices at the moment. We are going to install this recovery on our beloved Galaxy Note 4 in the following post today. If you’ve been looking for a way to install this recovery, you may have spotted the right place. Let’s move ahead with the installation now.

Early preparations

  1. This recovery is only working for the following variants of the Galaxy Note 4.
    1. Qualcomm Snapdragon Variants:
      1. TWRP Recovery For T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4
      2. Also, TWRP Recovery For Sprint Galaxy Note 4
      3. TWRP Recovery For Verizon Galaxy Note 4
      4. Also, TWRP Recovery For Canadian Galaxy Note 4
      5. TWRP Recovery For Indian Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910G
      6. TWRP Recovery For International Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910F
      7. Also, TWRP Recovery For Korean Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910S
    2. Exynos Variants:
      1. TWRP Recovery For Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C
      2. TWRP Recovery For Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910U
      3. Also, TWRP Recovery For Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910K
      4. TWRP Recovery For Galaxy Note 4 SM-910H

  2. Do not try this recovery on any other device. Trying an incompatible file on some other device may result in bricking it. Make sure that you check your device’s model number in settings > general > about device before you proceed.
  3. Make sure that you’ve charged your battery up to 60% at the least. This is recommended in order to prevent any power issues during the flashing process.
  4. Use OEM data cable to establish a connection between your PC and your phone.
  5. Backup your important media content, contacts, text messages and call logs. This is recommended so that in case something goes wrong during the flashing process, you still have all your data safe and secure.
  6. Disable any anti-virus software if you’ve installed. Also, disable your firewall for a while.
  7. Follow this guide to the letter to prevent any mishap. Read the disclaimer carefully.

Disclaimer: The methods involved in flashing custom recoveries, ROMs and rooting your phone are highly custom and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturer that is SAMSUNG in our case. Also rooting your device will void its warranty and you will be no longer eligible for any kind of free device services by the manufacturers/warranty providers. Galaxy Note 4 comes with Knox counter on the bootloader, once tripped you won’t be able to reset it again. In case of any mishap we may not be held responsible. Follow these instructions to the letter to avoid any mishap or bricking. Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.

Required Downloads:

  1. Download & install Samsung USB drivers on your PC.
  2. Download & extract Odin 3.13.1
  3. Also, Download TWRP 3.2.2.0 recovery.img.tar file according to your device.
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon Variants:
    1. N910F, N910G, 910P, N910R4, N910T, N910V, N910W8: Download
  • Dual SIM variants
    • N9100ZC, N9100ZH, N9106, N9109: Download
  • Exynos Variants 
    • N910C, N910H, N910K, N910L, N910U: Download

Install Latest TWRP Recovery On Samsung Galaxy Note 4 [Exynos & Qualcomm – All Variants]

  1. Make sure that you read the instructions listed above carefully and you’re all set to go ahead now.
  2. Wipe your device complete in order to attain a neat installation. You may boot into the recovery mode and perform a factory data reset.
  3. Open Odin3.exe.
  4. Put your Note 4 in download mode. To do so, turn it off and wait for 10 seconds. Turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home Button + Power Key simultaneously, You should see a warning, press Volume Up to continue. In case this method doesn’t work for you, try one from this guide.
  5. Connect your device to your PC.
  6. As soon as Odin detects your phone, the ID:COM box should turn blue.  Make sure that you’ve installed Samsung USB drivers before connecting.
  7. For Odin 3.09 or 3.10.6 hit the AP tab and then select the recovery.img.tar file that you downloaded and extracted above.
  8. If you’re using Odin 3.07, you will select “PDA” tab instead of the AP tab, rest of the options remain untouched.
  9. Make sure that the options selected in your Odin are exactly as shown in the pic.Odin 3.10.6 Explained_Techbeasts
  10. Hit start and wait till the recovery flashing is complete, The flashing process box will turn green upon successful flashing.
  11. Once the flashing process has been completed successfully, disconnect your device, pull out the battery, wait for 10 seconds and put it back.
  12. Now boot into TWRP recovery directly. To do so, turn on your device by pressing and holding Volume Up + Power + Home button. Once the phone boots up, leave the buttons and wait to get into the TWRP recovery. You can perform your operations now, or reboot your device to boot into system. To boot into TWRP recovery, again, simply turn it off and turn it on by using the 3-button combo explained above.
  13. That’s all, just in case your device isn’t rooted yet, and you want to root it now, check out the instructions listed below.

How To Root Now

  1. Download latest SuperSu.zip file
  2. Copy the downloaded file to your phone’s internal or external SD card.
  3. Now boot your phone into recovery mode.
  4. Tap Install > locate the SuperSu.zip file and tap it.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions and flash the SuperSu.zip file.
  6. Once done, reboot your device and find SuperSu in app drawer.
  7. To verify root access, install Root Checker from the play store and verify it.
  8. That’s all.

  1. what we have suppose to do in BL, CP and CSC in image they use all, but in text they show only what to do in AP bottom =/

    • @disqus_Ww7WsjXu2r:disqus for TWRP, you don’t have to touch BL, CP and CSC. You only have to put the file in AP which is also known as PDA for previous versions of Odin3.

      • i have done this process 3 times but my rogers note 4 is not going into twrp recovery mode. could you help me guys plz ?
