Top Flagship Smartphones Of 2017

Talking about this year, a huge range of renowned flagship smartphones were seen surfacing to the heights of success. The whole year was jam-packed with debuts of smartphones and thus the list of trending smartphones kept shuffling. We saw a fierce competition between these smartphones making their debuts simultaneously. The highlights of this year so far are Samsung Galaxy S8, OnePlus 5, Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi6 Plus, Note 8, Xperia Z1, LG G6, Xperia XZ, Huawei Mate 9, Huawei P9 and a couple of others. 1- Galaxy Note 8

Samsung’s powerful and much-awaited smartphone, the Note 8 hit the shelves right when Apple celebrated its 10th anniversary with the launch of iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Note 8 has been compared with iPhone’s new releases, and both of these companies are having a neck-to-neck competition right now. Note 8 delivers powerful performance as it comes with features like wireless charging, water and dust resistance and exclusive security like biometric authentication; all packed in a single smartphone!

2- Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi6 Plus

With the release of Xiaomi Mi6 and Mi6 Plus on April 19 in Beijing, the phones were met with a great deal of applause. These high-end smartphones exhibited a great price-performance ratio. These smartphones have IPS Display and Snapdragon processors for optimum performance and great user experience. Xiaomi is a company that has been coming with an economical array of smartphones since the beginning.

3- Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact

 

Xperia XZ was launched as the company’s fourth flagship smartphone in the past two years. The highlight of Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact like all Sony smartphones is a great camera and vibrant pictures. This phone comes with an innovative design and the waterproof feature returned with this phone. It has a durable battery life, good 4K display and a stunning camera lens for great pictures! It comes with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor and the XZ1 pair comes with Sony’s Motion Eye camera system and stunning front-facing cameras.

4- LG G6

We certainly cannot miss out on the LG G6 flagship smartphone which has been a rival to Samsung Galaxy S8. It was first launched in India and became available for sale on April 25.  It comes with metal body and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 backing, with Android 7.0 Nougat. This phone flaunts a FullVision display, DolbyVision HDR certification, and an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. We must say this phone shows a power-packed performance!

5- LG V30

 

This flagship smartphone was announced in 2017 with the LG G6. It became the center of attention and the focus of all the limelight. Coming with fingerprint sensor, dual camera, and a lovely aluminum body, this smartphone has a perfect finish and is a sight for sore eyes for sure! This phone has many features that are common with its sibling i.e. G6, and therefore comes as an updated version of G6.

6- Samsung Galaxy S8

Having a smart profile which fits in your hand effortlessly, a bezel less design and the most dynamic features including World’s first infinity display and Bixby button, the Galaxy S8 became the heartthrob of millions of smartphone users this year! Galaxy S8 had its boundaries vanished as it has an edge to edge screen, an autofocus camera, gorilla glass 5 and a great screen to body ratio. This phone comes with a Snapdragron processor which works faster than a lightning bolt and we surely loved it!

7- Samsung Galaxy S8+

Launched along with its partner Samsung Galaxy S8, the pre-orders of this flagship smartphone began in late March 2017, and the smartphone was officially released a month later. If you have a knack of bigger and taller smartphones, then S8+ is definitely the smartphone for you! Coming with high-resolution AMOLED screen and a sturdy glass screen which protects against scratching and breaking, this phone has been lauded by its users and deserves a praise for sure.

8- Huawei P10 and P10 Plus

The news of Huawei P10 and P10 Plus was revealed in Barcelona on February 26, where the company announced the release of these twin smartphones. They were anticipated to be similar to their predecessors, but a better version of them of course! The highlight of these phones is the fingerprint scanner on the front, below the screen, but not on the back as the previous P series.

 

9- Moto Z2 Force 

The famous Motorola’s next flagship phone, coming with durable screen and high-end specs, was released in the US on August 10. A high point of the Moto Z2 Force was its ShatterShield screen and QHD display, so we’re pleased to see both of those marquee features make a return in the Z2 Force. The highlight feature, ShatterShield prevents screen cracking even when dropped from 5 feet height. It comes with AMOLED display which shows some brilliant contrast and colors.

10- HTC U

Coming with Snapdragon 835 powered HTC and Edge Sense technology, the HTC U was the highlight of the year 2017.  The smartphone was launched at an event on May 16 and was rumored to be a bendable phone as you can use it simply by squeezing the edges of the device and performing various tasks. This particular feature of HTC U created a stir amongst its competitors. Squeezy much!

11- OnePlus 5

As its ancestor, the OnePlus 3‘s release was announced in June 2016, the news of OnePlus 5 was announced a few months later. Coming With a combination of high-end specs yet an economical price tag, OnePlus 5 surely looked promising. This phone made its appearance in India first and showcased its premium design and phenomenal performance. It surely comes as a fantastic buy for smartphone lovers!

12- Nokia 8

After the announcement of Nokia’s three Android handsets at Mobile World Congress 2017, everyone was excited about Nokia stepping into the smartphone business. Coming with an exclusive aluminum body and a front fingerprint scanner combined with a polished copper glossy finish, Nokia 8 excited the Nokia lovers with the launch of this brilliant phone. It comes with a front fingerprint scanner and has been recognized as a high-quality phone.

Hence, the year 2017 has been undoubtedly happening as the whole year was lined up with the launches and releases of some top flagship smartphones. Some of these phones came up as the best-selling smartphones in the market and had top-of-the-line specs in them. This just does not end here, there are still few launches in the pipeline for the remaining year of 2017.  Let’s hope that year 2018 also proves to be even better for the world of smartphones and technology.
