A few months back when Sony unveiled Xperia Z4, it came as a surprise for the users, and most of the users were disappointed. The Xperia Z4 sported almost same specifications with a few variations, as that of the Xperia Z3. This disappointed the users particularly because manufacturers like Samsung, LG and Motorola were done bringing up their flagship devices equipping the top-notch specifications of that time, and Sony was still a little behind. But Sony kept a bigger surprise for its users, and instead of going with one flagship device for the year 2015, it had plans for two. We have the second flagship of Sony out today.
Big day for Sony fans is finally here. The long awaited Xperia Z5, along with its younger sibling Z5 Compact and its premium sibling Z5 Premium is finally out. Sony pulled the curtains off from its latest handset at the IFA 2015 in Berlin. The Xperia Z5 made a number of rounds in the rumor mills, some of the rumors turned out to be true today.
Sony Xperia Z5
Xperia Z5 sports a OmniBlance design. Slightly rounded metal edges, unibody build and the neat design make this device look beautiful. Sony changed the re-arranged the volume rocker and power key on the right side of the smartphone. The power key has an embedded fingerprint scanner inside.
The Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2-inch full HD display on the front. Sony has used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64 bit octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz to power this device up. There’s Adreno 430 GPU accompanying the CPU. A RAM of 3 GB is there to boost up your multitasking on Sony’s new beast. The internal storage is starting from 32 GB. Xperia Z5 also has a microSD card slot on board which is going to fulfil your storage needs on this device. At the back we have a 23 MP shooter, while a 5 MP shooter is fixed on the front. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The specifications may seem similar to any other manufacturer’s flagship, but this is not it. Sony has once again done something quite awesome. This time Sony applied all its efforts on the rear camera of the Xperia Z5. Xperia Z5’s camera comes with the world’s fastest 0.03s autofocus, it has 5x Clear Image Zoom, ISO1200 for photos and ISO3200 for videos. Steady Shot features have been improved. Xperia Z5’s rear camera also supports 4K video recording.
Users who were expecting a QHD or a 4K display on the Xperia Z5 may be a little bit disappointed seeing the standard Xperia Z5, but we guess Sony wanted to provide its users with a number of choices when it come to the display. The premium variant of the Xperia Z5 sports a 4K display, which makes it the world’s first smartphone with a 4K display. Xperia Z5 is IP65/68 certified, which makes this smartphone resistant to dust and water.
Xperia Z5 Compact
A smaller version of Xperia Z5, pretty awesome device it is. Xperia Z3 Compact was a hit, Sony’s experiment turned out to be fruitful and we are expecting something similar for the Xperia Z5 Compact.
Z5 Compact, on the front sports a 4.6-inch 720 x 1280 pixels display. A 5 MP selfie shooter and 23 MP primary shooter. Xperia Z5 compact is also powered up with Snapdragon 810 64 bit Octa-Core CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz, Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB RAM. Internal storage is 32 GB, which is expandable by means of a microSD card slot. This device also has a fingerprint scanner embedded inside its power key on the right side. Xperia Z5 sports almost same specifications as that of the Xperia Z5, the design and build are also same. The only difference is the display and smartphone size. Xperia Z5 Compact is just a pocketable version of the Xperia Z5. Xperia Z5 Compact also runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
