Sony fans looking forward to the new flagship to be announced at the Mobile World Congress, held in March in Barcelona, have to brace themselves for disappointment, as XperiaBlog reports that the company will not be launching their new flagship at the event. It looks as If both the Zperia Z4 an LG G4 are out of the MWC 2015.
This news shouldn’t come as a surprise as the leaked email which talked about the Bond ‘Spectre’ movie collaboration hinted that the smartphone may arrive somewhere at the time the movie comes out, which is in somewhere in Q3/Q4. That email leak also reported that the company is working on a wearable, the leaked images looked very interesting, we have to see if the company manages to pull that off.
As Sony is not announcing Xperia Z4, it will be showcasing Xperia Z3 at the MWC along. This decision also correlates with the company’s unveiling of a Purple Diamond Edition Xperia Z3 in Hong Kong a few days back. Most probably that will also be present the Sony booth at the event.
Specifications wise, Xperia Z4 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and will be available in two different display variants: a Quad HD and 1080 p resolutions. Snapdragon 810 chipset is plagued with heat emission issues and Qualcomm will be re-designing it. Maybe the company is also keeping this factor in check, even though Sony has not made any comment on this aspect. Apart from that the smartphone will sport a 21-meagapuxel main camera accompanied by Exmor RS IMX230 sensor.
Most probable time frame for the launch of Sony’s upcoming flagship seems to be in Q3. But all of this is still speculation and rumors, we will get some more definite information about this aspect in the next coming days. In the meanwhile have a look at some of the concepts for Xperia Z4.
