Sony launched its new flagship smartphone few hours ago at the IFA, Xperia Z3. It is released just 6 months after the launch of Xperia Z2. Unexpectedly, this phone failed to make a good impression since Sony has not included even a QHD display in this smartphone. This phone follows the same designs as Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2, which the weight is reduced by about 11 g. It makes the phone a bit lighter.
Sony Xperia Z3 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 based Quad Core processor and 3 GB of RAM. It has the same 5.2 inches display with 1080p Full HD resolution. No 2K for Sony Xperia yet! Xperia Z3 will come with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box which is the latest version of Android OS. Just like its predecessors, Xperia Z3 is IP58 certified which makes it dust proof and water resistant. It can be submerged up to 1 meter depth and it can survive for up to 30 minutes. It can also be used for underwater shooting. The camera sensor is the same 20.7 MP Lens with 5248 х 3936 pixels and 1/2.3″ sensor size and ISO up to 12,800. The major addition is the introduction of the 32 GB variant. It will offer more internal storage for installing more games. To support so many features, it is packed with 3100 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. Although it is quite much but IPS LCD display is not a very battery friendly display panel. Xperia Z3 comes in four colour variants Black, White, Copper, Silver Green.
Although Xperia Z3 is not up to the mark when it comes to competition with the like of Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3, yet this phone wins over the looks department. The glassy build gives this phone a premium build. The new colours introduced also add to the glory of this device If you are looking for a fast, simple and premium looking device, then you should definitely get this one. It is easy to use and it is not cluttered with uncountable features like Galaxy or LG smartphones.
Keep the tradition alive, Sony launched the compact version of Xperia Z3, aka Xperia Z3 Compact. It flaunts a 4.6 inches display with 720p resolution. This phone is IP68 certified which makes it water and dust proof over 1 meter and over a period of 30 minutes. Rest of the technical specifications are the same as Xperia Z3, which makes it a worthy mini version of a flagship smartphone. The only difference is the smaller battery which is 2600 mAh battery.
Xperia Z3 is called as the waterproof phone and because of higher certification, it is tougher than Xperia Z3. It means that you can take it with you to the swimming pool, swim underwater and it will come out unharmed. Another prominent feature of Xperia Z3 Compact is the range of colors introduced with it. The colours are mote bright and lively.
This phone surely looks great and if the price is reasonable, this phone will be one of the most wanted smartphones. This phone is not exactly a mid-range smartphone neither it is a flagship. It is more like a borderline case. It has got same hardware as Xperia Z3 yet it more tough and possible more battery friendly because of lower screen resolution. If you are looking for a powerhouse in smaller shell, then this is the suitable contender.
The third device introduced at this even is Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The most interesting thing about this tablet is that it is IP68 certified, which makes it one of the toughest tablets we have ever seen. Whether it’s necessary/useful feature or not for a tablet, we’ll come to know in few days. It is also the lightest and slimmest tablet in the world at the time of writing. It comes with a 8.0 inches display with 1200 x 1920 pixels. This is one of the most good-looking tablets ever. Previous tablets were equally astonishing. The rest of the hardware specs are same as Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.
A new and interesting feature of Z3 Tablet Compact is PS4™ Remote Play. It allows users to play their PS 4 games on their tablet with PS 4 Dual Shock controller. Both tablet and console should be connected to same WiFi network and it should be fast enough for seamless streaming of HD games on tablet. This feature might be revolutionizing to gamers since they can sit anywhere and keep playing their favourite games.
Another gadget introduced in IFA event is the QX1 Lens. It offers interchangeable lenses. You can attach any E-Mount Lens to your mobile phone. Other lens introduced is QX30 which offers 30X optical zoom.
