Sony Xperia Z1 Mini: First Photo and specs

We’ve been hearing that Sony is up to making a Mini smartphone based on its Xperia Z1 hardware platform. Well, it seems that the rumors were accurate.

Sony Xperia Z1 Mini will be world’s first Mini smartphone to pack a 4 Krait 400 Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. The display size is rumored to be 4.3 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) and it is also rumored that the device might also inherit the 20.7MP camera of Sony Xperia Z1.

The document also states that the Sony Xperia Z1 mini will come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage (most likely expandable using microSD cards), with a 2,300 mAh battery. The device will be water and dust resistant.

These details were confirmed by a leaked catalogue provided to the Japanese market. This means that the smartphone will go on sale through NTT DoCoMo Japanese carrier and that it will be named Xperia Z1 f.

According to NTT DoCoMo document, the smartphone will hit market in four colors- white, black, red and yellow.

The release date and price has not yet been hinted.
