Mobile World Congress 2017, like every year is going to be an amazing event, with companies bringing their best products to the event. To date we have heard about LG, Samsung, Huawei and Lenovo but Sony’s surprisingly has kept their plans for the event under the warps. Now a news out of Japan claims that Sony has big plans for the event and it plans to announce 5 Xperia handsets ranging from high end to mid rangers at the event.

The official names if the devices were not revealed but we got to know about their code names which are: Yoshino, BlancBright, Keyaki, Hinoki, and Mineo. Yoshino may be the flagship device for the year and will sport a 5.5-inch 4K display. This then will be the first smartphone to come with such a display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6GB RAM. The new Sony sensor, Sony IMX400 will power up its camera.

The device named BlacBright will have a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 display. Under the hood it will be equipped with Snapdragon 835 or the Snapdragon 635, 4GB RAM and the same camera as used in Yoshino, IMX400. The next smartphone, Keyaki has  Full HD display and will be powered be a MediaTek Helio P20 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The device code named Hinoki, will also have the same MediaTek processor as Keyaki. It will sport a 1280 x 720 resolution display, 3GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Hinoki will have a 16MP main and 8MP selfie shooter.

All in all, the lineup of devices by Sony looks good. Though we are a skeptical about one detail, that is the processor. In an earlier report this week it was revealed that Snapdragon 835 will not power the LG G6, as Samsung got hold of the earlier supplies. So, we are a bit doubtful that if this flagship is announced at the MWC 2017, it most probably will not be powered by Snapdragon 835.

Sony has already rolled out invitations for their event which will take place on 27th February. In the upcoming weeks more rumors and information related to these devices will pop up, we will keep you updated. We are looking forward to their flagship code named Yoshino which will have a 4K display, what about you?
