Ranked as tech giants, Samsung and LG, are set to release their flagship smartphones next week in the MWC 2016 event. Samsung is introducing Galaxy S7 and S7 edge while LG will unveil the all new G5. According to various leaks and some official announcements of the features which both of the smartphones are expected to release with, there seem to be some similarities.
Needless to say, both devices will be completely differ in design when compared to each other. Moreover it won’t be a surprise to see both the companies releasing their flagship models running their own flavors of Marshmallow. This should also be noted that both, Samsung and LG, are South Korean based companies which might be why they always seem so keen to compete each other.
Both the devices, which are scheduled to be released next week, have a few common features which be described ahead. First and foremost, It is rumored that Samsung has filed application to copyright their new feature: Always on display. We are expecting Samsung to introduce this feature in their upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. This feature will allow users to check for notification, battery status, missed calls or messages without even unlocking their whole device. Thing to ponder on is that last week LG officially announced a similar feature which will be launched with their G5.
Needless to say, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will feature a fingerprint scanner just like its predecessors, Galaxy S6 and S5. On the other hand, LG might be introducing fingerprint scanner for the first time in their flagship smartphone. We are expecting it to match the one used in LG V10.

USB Type-C port is another feature we are expecting both the smartphones to carry. USB Type-C port is a very convenient accessory owing to their size and reversibility. These ports will work regardless the way they are inserted into the device. We already have seen LG use such port in their Google Nexus 5X while Samsung will be, allegedly, introducing such feature for the first time.
According to the leaked renders and prototype pictures of both the smartphones, LG G5 will be made completely out of metal while Samsung will feature a metal frame around the device similar to its predecessor, S6. Therefore we are hoping to see both devices being made from premium material.
We already know that LG has been providing microSD slots in their flagship models continuously, therefore it won’t be a mistake to expect them to continue the legacy in G5. On the other hand we saw that Galaxy S6 was deprived of the capability to support expandable memory, although strong rumors are coming which claim that Samsung is bringing back this facility for its customers in the upcoming smartphone.
These are all the new features we are expecting both of the awaited smartphones to have when launched. To stay updated with the latest news, keep visiting out website.
