With Samsung naming their upcoming flagship ‘Project Zero’ last year, when they made their intention known that they were going to work on the next devices from scratch, we were not sure what they would name the device- would it be Galaxy S6, we have been using that name to date or will there be some name tweaks as well. Now we have the answer, with the latest information out by GalaxyClub, confirms that Samsung indeed is calling its upcoming flagship Galaxy S6 and the name of the reported dual sided curved variant will be S6 edge. Samsung has trademarked the names in South Korea, so we can confirm that the company indeed will be bringing two variants out of their next flagship and what their names will be.
The name on the filing application for the ‘edge’’ variant is written S6 edge and it is in lower case, we wonder if that is intentional or a typo error made by the someone at the KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service).
We will most probably looking at both of the devices at Samsung’s event planned for 1st March at the MWC. Earlier in the day we got to see Galaxy S6 Edge in an image leaked out of South Korea, now we have to see if what Samsung launches on 1st March resembles that or will it be something else.
