Samsung to showcase a foldable smartphone prototype at MWC

Just when we thought that Samsung will be holding a low key event at the MWC, well that does not seem to be the case. A new information out of South Korea claims that Samsung will be showcase a prototype of a fordable smartphone at the event. As the company will not be unveiling their S-flagship smartphone at the event as per their pattern for the past two years, we were expecting that the press event will be quite uneventful.

But there is a catch, the prototype will not be shown to the public. Samsung will be showing the foldable smartphone in a private exhibition where only selected people will be able to look at it. This will give the Korean tech giant to showcase their innovative technology to investors and other industry partners.

In addition, this is also a chance to show how the company is experimenting on different products to stay ahead of their competitors. Along with the prototype, Samsung will also show other products as well related to display technology in order to assess market response. Well there is a chance that both inward and outward folding products will be available for inspection. We don’t know whether the prototype or the other products shown will be just concepts or working devices under experiment. Samsung sure knows how to raise the stakes and turn potential boring events into marketing events.
