After all the leaks and rumors, Samsung Indonesia decided to release teasers and a video featuring the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. These flagship smartphones are scheduled to be unveiled at the MWC event taking place next week. Apparently, the minute long video all-but confirms the numerous speculations made regarding the features and design of the smartphones.
It is officially confirmed that both the devices will be water-resistant as the video shows them being used under a downpour. Furthermore, the video also confirms that Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be feature wireless charging. Previously leaked pictures of the upcoming smartphones showed us that there will be no camera hump, like the one in Galaxy S6, at the back of the device and that the size of the home button will face an increment. The video below supports those leaks entirely.
Although the video doesn’t provide details of the hardware specs, it still provided solid details regarding the design and features of the smartphone. As expected, Samsung Galaxy S7 will look almost similar to its predecessor except for the curvy edges.
Apart from the minute long video, Samsung released other teasers to create suspense for their customers. The teasers include one featuring the improved privacy of the smartphone. While others point towards water resistance, and better camera performance in low light conditions.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be equipped with either Snapdragon 820 processor, or Exynos 8890. Moreover features like 4 GB RAM, 12MP rear camera with Britecell technology, and a more powerful battery are being anticipated. We also know that S7 and S7 edge will also feature a 5.1″ and 5.5″ Super AMOLED display respectively. A 3000mAh battery will be found inside the Galaxy S7, while a 3600mAh one will be powering the Galaxy S7 edge.
We are expecting Samsung to introduce ‘always on display’ in their upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. This feature will allow users to check for notification, battery status, missed calls or messages without even unlocking their whole device. Moreover a USB Type-C port is another feature we are expecting the smartphone to carry. USB Type-C port is a very convenient accessory owing to their size and reversibility. These ports will work regardless the way they are inserted into the device.
Last but not the least, Samsung S7 and S7 edge will definitely be announced with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. Marshmallow was released last year with numerous new goodies including a completely new app drawer, redesigned app permissions, Doze, and Google Now on Tap.
