Samsung might unveil foldable smartphones in 2017

We have been hearing rumors/reports regarding a ‘foldable’ smartphone being developed by Samsung. Various sources claimed that the handset was set to be unveiled this January, needless to say that wasn’t the case. However, recent reports suggest that the smartphone’s launch has been jumped to 2017.

The aforementioned recent report came all the way from South Korea (Samsung’s home country). It states that the company might start mass production of the foldable smartphones by the end of 2016 while the launch will be carried out in the following year. The report further mentions that the handset will sport a screen which will measure 7 inches (diagonally) when in its un-folded state and 5 inches when folded. Previously received rumors claim that the handset might feature either Snapdragon 620 or Snapdragon 820. These chipsets might be accompanied by 3GB of RAM. Note that Samsung is allegedly developing this smartphone under the programme named Project Valley.
